Photo from HereDay 7: Denton
I moved to Denton when I was 15 years old. I was a sophomore in high school and had really only lived in one town my whole life. I had always loved going to Denton to see my sister and brother and nieces and nephew but I never dreamed about living there. And then, there I was, in a new town away from the friends I had had since I was 3 year old, in a new house and everything. I changed from going to public school to private school. I was excited for the new direction and journey in life but with excitement usually comes fear and uncertainty....
Now, Denton is one of my favorite places to be. I love eating ice cream at Beth Marie's on the square and getting a wheat grass shot from Jupiter House and going to Old West for Breakfast and eating at The Chestnut Tearoom for lunch. I love that my sister lives across the street from my mom's house and my brother is only about a mile away. I had some of my best memories in that town. Some of my favorite people live there. I really grew to love myself in that town and I discovered new things about myself there. Yes it is busy and a little liberal and funky but I love it.
So I am extremely thankful for Denton, TX. Home of John B. Denton Day, and Jazz fest and part of my heart.

I figured it was suiting to be thankful of Denton today since that is where Collin and I are headed in about 2 hours. We hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.
