King Me...

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone is have a great day and week. Today is my sweet sister-in-law Julia's birthday. She is such a sweetheart and we love her dearly. This weekend Collin and I are going to Dallas to a few shops and then my amazing big brother Jeff and his lively family is coming to visit us and go camping. I am so excited to see them.

Well, I thought I would document the newest project we are about to undergo.

Collin and I bought a house back in November. We had been watching this house since they laid the foundation and fell in love with the area and the beautiful lots. When we bought it, it was completely move-in-ready. We didn't have to re do flooring or re paint or tear down walls or redo the kitchen or anything like that. We did have to put in a wood fence, but that was about it.

When we moved in, I just put the furniture in the spots that I first thought it would be good to go and didn't put much thought into it past that. Mainly because I was just trying to get us moved in before Thanksgiving. Well now that we are on our 4th month of being in the house (I can't believe it has already been that long to be honest), we have decided to re arrange/re decorate a few things. After talking about  it and decided what all we want to do with the house, we have decided to start with.............

OUR BEDROOM

Our room is very basic, medium sized, and it is painted a color called eggshell (paint can lies, it is a light breezy blue). Which honestly, I love this color. It is fresh and relaxing. I love our ceilings and our big window. It is thankfully a fresh open palette. When we got married, we used all of my bedroom stuff from my apartment in college as our master bedroom. As you can see below... (Yes that is two different types of bedding on the bed, I tried mixing it a little)

Now that we are finally settling in, we are ready to make it the MASTER bedroom. If you know me, I am a huge country french with a modern twist type person. I love neutral colors in a bedroom, especially white. So I have been searching the Internet at southern living, different blogs, and HGTV looking for ideas and we have decided to do a mixture of this:

We are going to move up from a queen size bed to a king size mattress and get a dark wood bed that we have picked out from Restoration Hardware. Then we are going to get a tufted bench to put at the foot of the bed and re arrange furniture and kick out some of my old furniture and what not. I will be posting photos as we go. This should all be taking place over the next 2 months or so. We may end up repainting it something like this color. But I told Collin that I wanted to wait until I see the room finished before I decide to paint it or not.

So that is what is going on with the Alexander's. We are excited to change our bedroom into our little own sanctuary and place of absolute rest, comfort, and love.

I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken.
Psalms 62:1-2

Love,
Jessica Katherine
