Meet Copper Alexander:
Copper is an 11 week old Long Haired Mini Dachshund. He is a red English Cream. We had been thinking about getting a play mate for Oliver for a while now and finally decided to start looking a few months ago. We got him on Sunday and he has been perfect. He is such a good little guy. He sleeps well and eats well. He is doing great at learning to potty train and doesn't even whine at night. He is so sweet and cuddly but definitely has a spunkiness to him. So far, Oliver has been a great big brother. Oliver lets Copper eat out of his bowl and they share treats and cuddle together. He is a little jealous every once in a while but we have done our best to let Ollie know that he is still #1 in our hearts.
We actually didn't name him until last night. We have been playing around with names since we got him. We have had many name ideas like Max, Ranger, Gunner, Milo, Maverick, etc. Then while we were in bed last night with both puppies, Collin looked at me and said, "What is the name of dog in The Fox and the Hound?" and we looked it up and found that it was Copper. Collin always quotes "I'm a Hound dog" with Oliver so we thought it was perfect. I have always been a big Disney movie lover.
Well this week we are just hanging around in town and then this weekend we are going to spend some time together and hopefully catch up on some much needed down time.
Tod: I'm a fox. My name's Tod. What's your name kid?
Copper: Mine's Copper. I'm a hound dog.
