Love and Hydrangeas

A few weeks ago, well actually about a month ago, my mom and I took a Thursday and meet each other in McKinney to go shop around the square. I had taken the day off, since it was my 23rd birthday, and my mom and I were on a mission for a fun girls day of shopping antiques and cool little nick-knacks on the square. Sometimes when we get together, for those of you that know my mom and I well, it is a lot of fun and a little dangerous. As my brother affectionately once said, "Y'all get hyped up on starbucks and buy the most random stuff."

If you have ever been to the McKinney square you know exactly how fun this can be. Lots of cute little designer shops and antiques and fun little eating places. One shop we went into, Smitten, use to be an old laundromat that my mom use to go into when she lived there years ago (because I love her I won't say exactly how many years ago that was). Anyways, I did walk away that day with a few fun things:

These are dried and preserved hydrangeas. Absolutely beautiful and delicate! Hydrangeas are perhaps my favorite flower. I used them all in my wedding.

And this is a glass made from a bottle that my mom and I loved and got a few of.

Anyways, if you are looking for something fun to do on a Saturday, I highly recommend visiting McKinney's downtown. It is so neat. I also recommend eating at Patina Green. That is where we got our hydrangeas and they have some really awesome sandwiches.

Hope everyone is doing well and had a great Easter weekend. We spent some much needed time with my sweet family and watched my amazing nephew kick tail at his last soccer game.

I thought I would leave with a little advice. Over the last few months, from personal experience and from observation, I have learned the value of loving yourself and being yourself. If people do not like you for you, then that is their problem but at least they know the real person that you are. If people love you for you, then you know it is genuine. God made you to be you for a reason. And nothing will make Him happier than for you being exactly who He made you to be.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful; I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14

"The Lord your God is with you;
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you;
He will quiet you with His Love;
He will rejoice over you with Singing."
Zeph. 3:17

Blessings,
Jessica Katherine
